You may feel empty, lost, and apathetic, or anxious, stressed, and overwhelmed. Negative thoughts and/or numbness may make it difficult feel connected. You may feel like you are just going through the motions of life, but not actually living. I would love to help you get back on track to living a more rewarding life.
Why did i become a counselor?
I became a counselor in order to help others feel safe, supported, and validated. During times of high stress, I know that it may seem almost impossible to alter negative thought patterns and to visualize an end to suffering.
When one is struggling, social support can make a world of a difference. I would love to be another person in your corner to help you navigate through difficult times, so you can come out as a stronger person.
how do i help you?
Therapy should be individualized to fit each client's specific needs. Together you and I will figure out what works best for you. I draw from evidence-based modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, to help individuals learn how to cope with stressful thoughts, emotions, and events. Although my specific approach may differ from client to client, empathy and acceptance are central to my work with everyone. I strive to help others feel empowered enough to make decisions that align with their goals and values, in spite of any stressors they may be facing. I use logic, validation, honesty, and humor to help individuals make positive changes that will help them reach their full potential.
I know how difficult it is to navigate through distress by yourself and to feel like you’re alone. Fortunately, it doesn’t always have to be this way. I hope that I can help you feel comfortable enough to open up and to take back control of your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, in order to help you live a wholehearted life.
