You are simply getting by in life and often feel overwhelmed by day-to-day life stressors. You find yourself living in the past or worrying about the future. Your relationships are impacted negatively by your difficulty in managing your self-defeating thoughts and/or emotions. You feel disconnected from the people and things you once enjoyed. Whatever your current circumstances may be, I am here to listen and provide support.

Scarlett Badal-Oroumieh, MSW, LCSW

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker from the Graduate college of Social Work at University of Houston. I chose this area of practice because I value human connection and empowering others during their most vulnerable times.

I have also experienced difficult times in life, and firmly believe in the positive impact therapy can have on one’s overall well-being.  My goal is not to try to fix you, have all the right answers, or assume that I know what is best for you. Instead I want to be able to walk along with you in your healing journey, while helping you gain insight and access your own wisdom. After all, you are the expert on your life!

how do i help you?

Empowerment, acceptance, and collaboration are at the core of my practice. Although there may be times when we cannot change your current circumstances, we can work together and find different strategies to move forward.  I use evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in order to help you reframe your thoughts which may be causing undesirable emotions and actions.  I have experience working with adults from various backgrounds and settings (including inpatient and outpatient) struggling with mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, bipolar, substance abuse, etc. Therapy is a personal journey and I don’t use a “cookie cutter approach”. Instead, I will collaborate with you on your treatment and goals.

Life is not always black and white, and sometimes we all need help exploring the gray area. I look forward to helping you navigate the gray area, while growing as an individual.
