How Brainspotting Works

Brainspotting consists of 53 minute, one-on-one sessions that help you work through your concerns. In addition to listening, I will guide you through Brainspotting utilizing mindfulness based techniques, and play an active guiding role. Here’s how it will work step-by-step:

  1. First, you will pick what you are wanting to work on with the brainspotting treatment method.

  2. Through hearing your story, you will become activated and we will determine your SUDS scale level on a 1—10, with 10 being the most intense the feelings or thoughts are.

  3. We will then begin the brainspotting process of locating your brianspot through the movement of the wand.

  4. Once a brainspot is located it will determine what you feel.

  5. Through Brainspotting, you will process emotions, thoughts, and images, much like working on putting together a puzzle.

  6. When you become deactivated and your SUDS level becomes reduced, we will wrap up the brainspotting process.

  7. Over the course of the sessions, you will start making progress towards the life you desire.
